A parent naming a child holds five or six names for weeks. Rather than entering each one and writing the scores on paper, put them in together and read them in one table.
Sound elements, stroke numerology, and — with a birth date — whether each name supplies what the chart is short of. Candidates without hanja have no strokes to count, and that cell is left visibly empty rather than scored as zero.
A higher total is not a better name. How it sounds when called across a room, whether it sits with a sibling's name, whether you have already grown attached to it — none of that is in the arithmetic.
